I’m sorry I waited so long to try it.
Dear Interac casino payment method,
Why did I not choose you first when I had the option? Why did I ever think that using Paysafecard would be the better choice?
I feel like I’ve learned an important lesson and will now sing your praises to fellow Ontario online casino players who may be nervous to try you, too.
I look forward to using your services again soon.
Sincerely,
Mia
Ridiculousness aside, in all seriousness, Interac e-transfer has become my new favourite way to deposit and withdraw from online casinos. If you follow my blog, you’ll know that I recently made this discovery when I first used Interac when signing up at Betty Casino.
In that post (you can read it here), I shared how easy it was to use the Interac casino payment method and promised I’d go into more detail about it in another post. Promise kept. 😁
This week, I’ll explain how to use Interac e-transfer at online casinos to deposit and make a withdrawal.
👩💻 Mia’s Note: The following information is based on my personal experiences and opinions using Interac e-transfer via Scotiabank at Betty Casino. My experience may not be like yours. Always choose the payment method you’re most comfortable using. Also, make sure where you play is safe, secure, and is a legitimately licensed Ontario online casino.
How to Make Interac Casino Payments
Interac is one of the most commonly available Canadian casino payments. Head to an online casino’s cashier and you’ll no doubt see Interac listed among the available options.
Why is it so popular? If you live in Ontario – or anywhere in Canada, for that matter – you likely know what Interac is and are a frequent user of this payment system. That’s because Interac is our country’s primary payment network. It works with all our nation’s financial institutions (Scotia, TD, BMO, RBC, CIBC, etc.). Since 1984, Interac has been the foundation of Canada’s payment system. Over the years, it has developed infrastructure, tools and regulations that have helped to make the system simple and secure, so we can quickly access and use our money anywhere in our country.
In short, if you’ve ever used your debit card to pay for something or sent an e-transfer via your bank, you’ve used Interac.
How to Make an Interac Casino Deposit
Making an Interac deposit via Interac e-transfer should be a stress-free and easy experience. Here’s how to do it based on my experience at Bett
- Register an account/login to your casino account
- Head to the area where you can make a deposit (most casino’s have a “deposit” button at the top of the page, but payments are most often found within your account)
- Choose Interac from the available options
- Select your bank (from this point you will likely have a time limit in which to complete the transfer – I was given 10 minutes)
- Login to your online bank account
- Select Interac e-Transfer
- Enter the recipient’s name and email address provided to you by the casino (instructions should be readily available – see screenshot below)
- Enter the amount you wish to send/deposit
- Include the required message (if there is one)
- Enter the security question and answers provided by the casino (if required)
- Verify all details are correct and hit “Send”
That’s all there is to it.
Interac deposit speed
Your deposit should show up in your casino account within seconds. Your bank should confirm that your money was successfully sent, and the casino should notify you when it’s been received.
In my experience, I did not need to provide any verification documents to Betty in order to make the deposit and there was no deposit fee. However, it’s important to note that Interac e-transfer fees are dependent on your specific bank and bank plan.
How to Make an Interac Casino Withdrawal
Making an Interac withdrawal through e-transfer is just as easy and nearly as fast as making a deposit. Here’s how to do it based on my experience at Betty.
- Login to your account
- Head to the payments section
- Choose Interac from the available options
- Verify the email and phone number associated with your bank account (this will likely be required when making your first withdrawal)
- Enter the amount you want to withdraw
- Your request will be pending until it’s cleared by the casino
- You should receive an email from the casino confirming your request
- You should receive an email from your bank when you received the funds
- The casino should confirm that your money has been successfully withdrawn
Interac withdrawal speed
The Interac withdrawal processing times depends on how quickly the casino processes the request. For Betty, it took exactly 6 minutes from the point my request was confirmed (which was seconds after I made it), and there were no fees for me.
On average, you should expect Interac e-transfer casino withdrawals to be in your bank account within a day or less.
Pros and cons of using Interac
So far, I only have positive things to say about Interac casino payments. My experience was easy, fast, secure, and free of fees. That said, like everything in life, it seems, there’s a good side and downside to Interac. After doing a bit of research online, these are the top pros and cons associated with Interac online casinos.
Interac Pros
✅ Easy to use
✅ Fast and secure deposits and withdrawals directly via e-transfer
✅ Anti-fraud protection for transactions
Interac Cons
⭕ Can be susceptible to phishing scams
⭕ There may be bank fees*
⭕ Might not be available at every casino
With any luck, you won’t experience anything disappointing. My hope is that I don’t in the future, either. Of course, if I do, I’ll let you know. I’m just as happy complaining about something as I am signing its praises. 🤣
*Note: Ontario online casinos don’t typically charge fees to use this payment type. If there are fees to make an Interac deposit and/or withdrawal they are fees imposed by your bank, usually in relation to your specific bank plan. For instance, some bank plans always charge a fee, some have a limited number of free transfers per month, and others include unlimited free e-transfers. Usually, if there is a fee to use Interac e-transfer it’s small (e.g., $1.50 or less). The best thing to do is to check your bank plan to find out if you’re charged to send Interac e-transfers.
Additionally, keep in mind that using Interac e-transfer as a casino payment is not the same as using Interac debit. Debit is also secure and fast but does have fees. |
I’m impressed by how easy it is to use Interac e-transfer as a casino payment method. This is now my preferred deposit and withdrawal method. I’m looking forward to discovering if it’s as easy to use at all online casinos where I play that offer it, or if it’s just Betty that makes it so simple and fast.
Are Interac casino payments your favourite deposit and withdrawal methods at Ontario online casinos? If not, what is your preferred option?
Finally, on a more personal note, can you believe we’re already at the end of August? I can’t believe summer is nearly over…but I’m not all broken up about it, either. I do enjoy the heat, but my favourite time of the year in Ontario is the Fall (or Autumn for everyone else who doesn’t live in Canada and the US 😆).
I’m looking forward to September, not only because of the changing leaves, cooler temperatures, and local fresh food, but also because I’ll be sharing more of my Ontario gaming experiences with you. Next week, I’ll be sharing a new game favourite that’s my current go-to entertainment.
I hope you’ve been enjoying following my iGaming journey so far, and a big thank you to those who share their thoughts/opinions with me. There’s lots more to come.
Until next time, good luck and have fun.
